Japan Airlines Gives Free Internet Access. JAL has decided to provide free Internet access throughout the flight to all customers flying on their domestic routes.JAL has been offering onboard Internet service since July 2014 as a paid service, but will offer free Internet service onwards.
In-flight video programs, such as sports, gastronomy, music and animation, etc. Are also available for free on flights equipped with Wi-Fi and can be transmitted on Wi-Fi devices of passengers.
All domestic routes for JAL and JTA (Japan Transocean Air, a subsidiary of the JAL Group) operated by airplanes equipped with Wi-Fi in flight.
All customers on applicable flights will be able to enjoy free internet access on board. The "FREE FLIGHT PASS" button will appear on the main page of the portal after connecting to Wi-Fi in applicable flight. Internet service will be available from 5 minutes after take-off to 5 minutes before landing.
The Wi-Fi flight service is provided by Gogo. This service is provided through the use of the satellite communication network. Please note that mobile broadband may be interrupted or unavailable due to weather conditions and the location of the aircraft. In addition, the connection may become weak or unstable when there is an access concentration.
Note:
1. Free Internet service is not available for international airplanes equipped with Wi-Fi, which operate on select domestic routes.
2. Internet service on JTA aircraft will be available from departure to arrival.
