Emirates Flies To Moscow With Airbus A380-800
Emirates Flies To Moscow With Airbus A380-800. United Arab Emirates, the operator of the Middle East is trying again to change its Moscow operation to a fully Airbus A380 route, after backing off in an earlier effort. It operates two daily flights to Moscow Domodedovo from Dubai, using the A380 and Boeing 777-300ER.
But Emirates says it will deploy the A380s in both rotations from 1 October. He had previously reported plans to turn the Moscow link into an all-A380 operation in 2014 after putting the double-deck type in service on the route in 2012.
But instead it used 777-300ERs on both daily flights, before re-introducing all A380's service last year.
"The Boeing 777's replacement will significantly increase capacity along the route and meet growing customer demand," says the operator, who began serving Moscow in 2003.
Its use of 517 Airbus A380 seats on both daily flights will provide more than 1,000 additional seats a week on the route, he adds.
