Airbus Assembly Line Receives Beluga XL Top Fuselage. Beluga XL, based on the Airbus A330, will receive its initial fuselage section after completion of the structure by Stelia Aerospace.The transport of the component to Toulouse involves transport by road from the installation of Stelia to the port of Rochefort before being loaded onto a barge used for the transport of section A380.
It is being taken by barge to Langon before being transferred to road vehicles for transport over the remaining 200km to the final assembly line of Toulouse.
The upper fuselage is 8m long and 8m high and weighs 2.1t.
Stelia, who has already delivered the nose section of Beluga XL, says the aircraft's cargo door - which covers about 140m² - will be delivered in September.
